Hi there! Welcome to Fashion Marketing Trends. My name is Arielle Hurst and in May 2016 I created this site to solve a problem I was having. I love reading about the business side of the fashion, retail and luxury industries, but hate jumping from site to site to pick out the few, specific articles that cover those topics. I’m too lazy and too efficiency-focused to deal with that! So, the solution I came up with was FMT.
This site aggregates articles from sources like Business of Fashion, Fashionista, Glossy, Luxury Daily and more. Once I’ve got them all in a single, easy-to-digest space, I trash the irrelevant content (sorry articles like, The One Eyeshadow Pallet You *Need* this Spring) and summarize the most interesting pieces. That means you can absorb the latest brand strategy, industry trends, emerging companies and technology news from these three verticals in quick, skimmable blurbs; or use links back to the OG article for a deeper look.
Soon I’ll be rolling out my own content (and podcast?!), but for now I hope this site does for you what it does for me: creates a simple home for all the most interesting fashion, retail and luxury news online.
Wondering what I was up to before Fashion Marketing Trends? Well, over the last seven years I’ve followed my passion for creating great media content as a journalist into the tech world. Thanks to the variety of small team settings, I’ve had a direct hand in creating websites, videos, podcasts, graphics and more (learn more about my experience here). When I’m not working, it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that I’m usually rummaging through the racks at a thrift shop or reading articles about the business side of fashion.
